Interns Explore MUNI History

On Monday, January 24, a group of YouthWorks participants interested in careers in engineering and transportation visited the MUNI cable car facility.  Interns got a sneak peek at the inner workings of the historic San Francisco cable car system, which has been in operation since 1873. Youth were interested to learn about the technology behind this San Francisco landmark, and to realize that cable cars are still manufactured and repaired utilizing the same techniques as were used 100 years ago.

Thanks for MUNI Control Room Manager Sam Ng for organizing this career exposure opportunity for our program.
