Interns Learn about Health Education

On Tuesday, March 12th, SF YouthWorks hosted a workshop on women’s sexual and reproductive health facilitated by Planned Parenthood. The workshop began without a set agenda. Interns were encouraged to bring up topics that they were interested in, ranging from learning more about female anatomy to how to prevent STI transmission. By creating such an open space, the facilitator was able to created a safe environment for asking questions. Although our interns started out shy, by the end of the workshop they were freely asking questions and sharing their opinions.

The workshop was organized as part of YouthWorks effort to create additional programming to support the young women that we work with. A huge thank you to our presenters for sharing this important information with our youth and to the youth that decided to take the time to learn more about their bodies and health.
