Happy International Women’s Day from SF YouthWorks! Women’s Day is a great reminder of achievements in women’s rights worldwide as well as an opportunity to focus on the challenges that women still face.
At YouthWorks, we recognize that young women will face different challenges as they pursue careers. On average, women still make 70 cents for each dollar that a man makes. Women are more likely to have to leave their jobs to support family members, and less likely to take senior management positions.
We hope that job experience early on will help empower the young women we work with to speak up in the workplace and continue to advocate for equal pay and opportunity.
