Interns Share Winning Projects

On April 25, YouthWorks interns attended our first annual Department Research Project Competition.  Nine projects had been selected by a peer voting process for participation in the competition.  These projects included videos, powerpoint presentations, posters and art projects, and a building model.

The projects were presented to a room full of YouthWorks participants, mentors and staff.  The panel of judges observed the presentations and then deliberated to choose the winners.  Judges agreed that it was very difficult to select a winning project and noted the strengths of all of the projects presented.

The final winners were Christine Perez for her virtual tour of the Department of Technology and Zaldy Tubig for his presentation and art display about the Asian Art Museum.

Special thanks to the San Francisco Public Library for hosting the event, and to our judges who generously volunteered their time for the difficult task of selecting our winners:  Jennifer Collins (SF Public Library), Hydra Mendoza (Mayor’s Office), Mario Yedidia (SF Youth Commission), Rommel Taylor (Bureau of Architecture, Department of Public Works), Flynn Bradley (SF International Airport), Max Rocha and Sherrice Dorsey (Department of Children, Youth and their Families).
