Recognizing Mentor of the Month, Judy Lee

The mentors who volunteer to work with SF YouthWorks interns are an incredible group of city employees. To show our appreciation of this commitment, we highlight our Mentor of the Month. This year, we turn the spotlight on Judy Lee from the Department of Human Resources’ Workers’ Compensation Division.

Thank you Judy for the great work you do as a YouthWorks mentor!

Judy works as a Finance and Support Analyst in the Workers’ Compensation Division of San Francisco’s Department of Human Resources. She has mentored with SF Youthworks since June 2013.

Judy is no stranger to the world of youth work. In fact, when she was a teen she landed her first job with SF YouthCares where she worked mainly with senior citizens teaching English, cooking, and art classes.

“Having undergone a similar program when I was in high school, I find it helpful to assist with my current interns through their routes to college and the future careers fields later,” she explained.

A few fun facts about Judy: she double majored in Statistics and Economics at UC Davis, played volleyball for well over 17 years, and speaks English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Spanish.
