This summer YouthWorks welcomed a familiar face to join the YouthWorks team. Natasha Baez first heard of YouthWorks when her mom encouraged her to apply for the program when she was fourteen. Natasha was hired as an intern and placed at the Human Services Agency. She quickly showed initiative and became part of the Youth Leadership Team (YLT). For Natasha being a part of the YLT gave her the opportunity to work with a diverse group of youth while developing her leadership and facilitation skills.
At fifteen Natasha was selected to intern at the YouthWorks main office, where she continued working for three years. YouthWorks quickly became a second family for her. ” YouthWorks was such a good support system for me. It really made an impact on my life. My life would be so different with out it.” Natasha was the first in her family to attend college and credits programs like YouthWorks and AACE for helping her along the way. While in college Natasha continued working with YouthWorks and MYEEP each summer. This May Natasha graduated from Holy Names with a BA in Psychology.
Natasha stepped into a new role this summer working as an Employment Coordinator and will be managing sites at the San Francisco Public Library and the Fire Department this summer.
