Fond Farewell to Placement Specialist Julia Scheinbeim

Julia2Placement Specialist Julia Scheinbeim is leaving SF YouthWorks to attend Columbia University’s School of Public Health in the fall. Although we will miss Julia enormously, we are excited to see her move on to the next phase of her career. From coordinating the Youth Leadership Team to designing and running workshops, Julia has contributed to every aspect of our program. Her creative vision, boundless energy, and dedication to the youth and mentors on her caseload have made her an invaluable member of our team.Julia

We asked Julia to reflect on her favorite parts of working for YouthWorks. She said, “YouthWorks gave me my first full-time youth development job, and I’m really thankful that this is where I ended up.  I was able to have ownership over many projects, which was extremely rewarding.  I will miss the YouthWorks family so much, and I have worked with a lot of amazing young people. In the end, the most rewarding thing is having an impact on the lives of young people.”

After she earns her Master’s degree in public health, Julia plans to design educational programming for youth about health and healthy relationships. We will miss Julia’s sense of humor, her leadership, and her dedication, and we wish her luck as she embarks on the next stage of her career.
